Italian Albanian

SHORT HISTORY

The National Federation Cynolgique of Albania (F.K.SH) recognized by the Republic of Albania with Verdict no. 6111 of 14.12.2018 has allowed in these few years to begin to give a significant imprint to dog breeding in this country.

In the same period some true dog enthusiasts including Mr. Arturo Verzeroli true creator and inspirer decide to give life to a concrete and well-founded request to the F.C.I. (Federation Cynologique International) as an official Member with which we were admitted during the Assembly of Shanghai (China) on April 27 2019 with the completion of a Contract on June 5 2019.

This is the Birth Certificate of the Federation Cynologique of Albania within the largest world organization for the improvement and care of pure dog breeds in Albania with 11 members.

Immediately after the “Book of Origins” PSH (Pedigree Shqiptare) was born with the PSHK appendix and the first dog registered was a Doberman named Nex born in 2016.

At the same time the Members' Assembly ratifies the Statute and updates the various requests for registration in the 'Book of Origins' with requests for annexations of pure breed Associations including the Albania Dobermann Club.

Immediately in 2021 the first official dog shows were born where approximately 300 dogs were presented.

The Board of Directors decides to ask the Ministry of Agriculture for official recognition with the inclusion of one of their Delegates within the Board of Directors without the right to vote.

Following the numerous official dog shows both in 2021 and in the years to follow the Albanian dog lover finds himself faced with a capable and well-organized structure in solving all his problems and in the meantime new breeders are born individually and also collectively new purebred Associations including the German Spitz Pomeranian the English Setters etc. so much so that we are able to register a number decidedly higher than 1000 dogs already in 2022 compared to a dog population estimated at 55000 dogs.

In 2023 16 international dog shows are organized in various cities with the participation of subjects from all over Europe with an average presence at the show of over 1000 subjects. In the meantime also thanks to the assiduous presence of high-level professional international judges Albania is starting to achieve a fair amount of success internationally as a serious professional and capable Federation gaining international prestige.

In 2024 the Federation reaches an important agreement with the Italian Federation (E.N.C.I) for the development of dog activities in Albania the creation of a database of the DNA of breeding dogs and having the title of champion improvement of registrations in the Book of Origins - PSH collaboration for the creation of 'dog areas' in the various parts of the country for the development and training of utility dogs dogs used for hunting sports and for Civil Protection as well as for the selection and improvement of rescue and rescue dogs.

Currently the Federation is working hard on the training of national judges and assistants on the enhancement and promotion of Albanian native breeds with the hope that the various specialized associations of these breeds find a common language for the promotion of these ancient native breeds each fascinating and particularly interesting both for the morphology and for the natural aptitudes and temperament.

The selection and their improvement take on a prominent role in the technical activity of the Federation which wants to promote their knowledge and diffusion both in Albania and abroad promoting recognition at an international level through the F.C.I.

Of particular importance is the problem of street dogs which follows with great trepidation and concern the evolution of the situation in Albania which often turns into massacres of poor defenseless dogs and without any fault other than that of having the right to life.

Currently despite our interventions nothing concrete has been done and the situation is in the hands of local groups of volunteers who with every possible effort and sacrifice try to save what can be saved and heal these poor beings but in our opinion this is not the right path.

The Federation has proposed concretely all its help and collaboration to the authorities thanks also to the support of the F.C.I. and official Federations to manage the problem on a national level with collection centers in every city and the creation of a National Canine Registry which does not exist today under the control and supervision of the F.K.SH Federation assisted by international experts.

It is also worth mentioning the presence of a team of purebred Albanian dogs who normally participate even officially in European and World Championships with surprising results and always placing in the finals both in beauty contests and in hunting competitions.

Currently the main purpose of the Federation in addition to improving all our internal potential is to prepare ourselves in a professional capable and dignified way for the next F.C.I. General Assembly in Helsinki in 2025 in order to be welcomed by all countries as an 'Associate Member'.

This is our hope, our wish and our future.
